Set of 5 stackable ashtrays designed in the 1960’s by Japanese industrial designer Isamu Kenmochi, for the German market. Funky space age design. Never used.
They are marked Pat Pend (Patent pending) identifying this set of ashtrays as a very early production, since before they patented it.
Materials: exterior- chromed steel, interior: melamine.
Dimensions: Height: 3cm, Diameter: 7cm.
The designer Isamu Kenmochi was born in 1912 and committed suicide in 1971 in Tokio. He was a pioneer of the Japanese modern style, integrating industrial design with the material culture of Japanese craft.
